Quiltz Classes

 

Because our teachers need to prepare for their classes, and because class sizes may be limited, we ask you to pay at the time you register. You may get a refund if you need to cancel your reservation, but only if you cancel one week before the start of class. This not only allows the teacher to plan better, but also allows anyone waiting for an opening to register. We thank you for your interest in Quiltz classes. And remember, if there is a class you would like to see offered in the future, please don't hesitate to ask!

Demonstation Classes

A demonstration class gives you the opportunity to learn new techniques and play with new products. For a $10 fee you get all the materials you need for an exciting and informative hour. Come join the fun!

Convergence Resurgence

Mysterious, magical, easy and FUN! Let your creative side shine with this technique developed by Ricky Tims. We will be making a “Divide and Conquer Convergence” wall hanging, with a theme of “The Road Not Taken” based upon the poem by Robert Frost which begins with the words, “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood”. You will learn how to cut and sew curves without using templates or fussing over perfect ¼” seams. Also, you will be using fabric inks for embellishment.

Silk Ribbon Embroidery

Beginning Needlepoint

Needlepoint Bargello

Join Debra as you explore the mysteries and delights of Bargello. Bargello is a form of needlepoint in which (typically) only straight stitches are used, usually in geometric patterns. Flame-shaped patterns are also very popular. Bargello has limitless variations, both in stitch and color. This class will cover the selection of canvas, yarn and needles. You will learn several stitches to create a Bargello sampler.

Counted Cross Stitch and Stitchers Group

Date: The second and fourth Fridays of every month, starting May 23 1:00-3:00

Your eyes are bad, the designs are boring, and you can’t imagine why you would ever put up with doing stitches all day — that is until you have mastered the ins and outs (and around and up and over, etc) of cross stitch. The fee includes a book,” Miniature Cushions in Cross Stitch), your hoop and fabric, a needle, and lots of fun! While it would be best to begin learning on May 23rd, once you pay your fee you can come any second or fourth Friday of the month, learn counted cross stitch while making an adorable cushion, and enjoy the company of other stitchers who gather those Fridays to stitch together while completing their project. By the end of the summer I hope that many of you will have your cross stitch completed and we can move into blocking and finishing the cushion.
In the fall, we will look into seasonal projects that many of you may wish to undertake and new techniques you may wish to explore.
